Full Job Description

Kid’s Culture Child Care in Somersworth, NH is currently accepting applications for a center director to join our team.

Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications for center director as outlined by the NH DHHS Child Care Licensing Unit. Experience working with children is required, and experience in an administrative or leadership capacity is preferred. Candidates must have the ability to work independently and be comfortable with exercising good judgement and decision making skills as well as maintaining a safe environment at all times.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years,
  • Addressing problems and answering questions,
  • Carrying out lesson plans and activities,
  • Able to adapt to any age group,
  • Able to collaboratively,
  • Able to supervise and manage adults,
  • Strong organizational skills,
  • An understanding of NH Child Care Licensing Regulations,
  • Ongoing professional development,
  • Following all health and safety rules, both state and center regulated,
  • Willingness to maintain education and training.

Candidate must be CPR & First Aid certified (or willing to obtain) and successfully complete pre-employment requirements of the daycare and the organization.

Candidates must meet the following requirements, as outlined by NH DHHS Child Care Licensing:

  • Are at least 21 years of age,
  • Have a high school diploma, or equivalent,
  • Have 3 credits in management or supervision from an accredited college,
  • Have at least 1500 hours of experience working with children in a licensed childcare or public/private elementary school capacity,
  • Have a minimum of an associate’s degree; OR an additional 3000 hours of experience plus a CDA; OR current certification in early childhood, elementary, or special education by the department of education; OR certification in a teacher preparation program accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) in infant and toddler, early childhood or elementary I, together with 60 credits, awarded by an accredited college or university; OR documentation of 60 credits, of which at least 24 shall be in related coursework
  • Candidates in the process of meeting these requirements may also be considered.
